Private Course
PRIVATE DOCKING COURSE
The fastest way to safe, calm and precise maneuvering in a marina — 100% tailored to you and your crew.
About the Course
A private docking course is ideal for anyone who wants to quickly and safely increase confidence in marina maneuvering, with maximum flexibility and an individual approach. You choose the vessel (sailing yacht or catamaran), schedule and course duration, as well as the learning focus — from basic docking to advanced "close-quarters" maneuvers in more demanding conditions (crosswind, crowded marina, confined space).
The instructor is dedicated exclusively to you or your group, which allows faster progress, precise analysis of mistakes and repetition of key steps until the procedure becomes routine. The course is practical and structured: understanding the influence of wind and current, speed control, proper preparation of lines and fenders, crew communication and a clearly defined maneuver plan before entering the berth.
Program Options
The program can be organized as:
- Intensive "docking bootcamp" (stern docking / Med mooring, alongside docking, departure and arrival)
- Catamaran course (two-engine handling, differential thrust, turning on the spot)
- Crosswind and confined-space exercises (bow/stern control, calm corrections)
- Training for couples or families (crew roles, simple and clear commands)
- Preparation for the first independent charter experience (real situations from charter marinas, "what-if" scenarios)
How It Works
In cooperation with the instructor, you define the goal (e.g. "I want to dock stern-to safely in crosswind" or "I want the crew to know what they are doing"), and then the schedule and content are set according to your experience and learning pace. The focus is on a repeatable process: preparation – plan – execution – analysis – repetition.
A private docking course is the best choice if you want to learn without pressure, systematically build routine and master exactly the maneuvers that cause you stress — with full flexibility and maximum instructor dedication.
Note: The agreed course program may change depending on weather conditions and marina conditions. The instructor will adapt the plan if necessary in order to ensure, in the given circumstances, the highest possible level of safety and course quality.
