Basic Skipper Training
Sailboat maneuvering… Turn your skills into routines!
NAS Sailing Center offers you a practical training in mastering basic maneuvering skills. If you want to sail on your own or if you plan on buying a (bigger) boat, you will find this training extremely useful. It's possible to take this training as a part of 7-day Intensive Course or separately.
For beginners with little or no experience in boat maneuvering.
In this course you will get to know sailing boat specifics and its systems through skippers check in. You will practise basic boat maneuvering and get acquainted with aspects of boat safety.
What will you learn/do ?
- Introduction to equipment and sailboat systems (skippers check in)
- How to use safety equipment
- Maneuvering the boat outside the port
- maneuvering inside the port (basic)
- Bow/stern, port and starboard side berthing
- Anchoring – choosing the right position and performing anchoring
- Catching a buoy
- Avoiding collisions
- Safety at sea – man overboard maneuver
- Skipper reaction in high risk situations
Basic Skipper Training - Price

- Included: instructor, fuel, tourist tax
- Not included: food and drinks
For everyone who attends any of our courses we are offering a 15-20 % discount on boat charter (depending on the season). Also, for those who finish our Intensive Course there will be 10 % discount on any other course/training by NAS Sailing Center. Additionally, if you are interested, there is a possibility to become part of our skipper base and work as a professional skipper after you get your license.
NAS SAILING CENTER
We will successfully prepare course participants and, if necessary, we will organize exams:
- Boat leader licence category B
- Boat leader licence category C <=18m (pro licence)
- Yacht Master category A <=24m (pro licence)
We can organize sailing courses and all other forms of sailing from our offer over several days or weekends, depending on your availability. Sailing courses take place in the waters off Punat (island KRK) in the Northern Adriatic on NAS SAILING CENTER sailboats.
